After more than a year of lockdowns & losses, I found myself feeling along what it means to heal from all the losses, after what we’ve all been through. Many have lost souls dear to them in this last year, or jobs, security & peace of mind. How many plans, dreams & hopes have been lost along the way? There isn’t one of us who hasn’t had a hard journey this past year & isn’t grieving in some way.
It may not be for a loved one or a job; it may be a loss of relationships & connectedness, a missed vacation or unfulfilled expectations, yet everyone has to find a way to heal. Each of us has to draw our own map towards healing.
This trip to Africa was born out of loss. Three girlfriends & myself had to cancel a trip to the Serengeti last Spring due to COVID, so when the unexpected opportunity to travel to South Africa at significantly reduced cost arose, we jumped at the opportunity. One of our original travel quartet had a scheduling conflict so I invited my son Josh to accompany me. This could only happen because my youngest brother, Stephen is not only staying with my Mom for 2 weeks, but is also dog sitting Pippin & Dora. It is a huge gift. We shared our plans with Jason & Brittney, who have also joined us on this adventure. What a unique & treasured experience for the 4 of us to be together on this journey along with Louise & Marcy. We are again traveling with Leslie Udwin & Red Sun Safaris.
I hope you’ll follow us over the next 2 weeks.

Can't wait to hear about all your adventures. Safe travels!
